Background

As Leonard Cheshire were relocating there office from unit 6a to unit 8, we carried out some alterations to unit 8 before they relocated, this involved

Forming a stud partition wall from one end of the room to the other which would then create two additional offices for storage and office staff.

We fitted some additional fire/smoke alarms, along with a complete intruder alarm system.
In unit 6a we had to bring the inside back to where it was originally before they moved, this involved disconnecting the power supply and making safe of all electrics.

Once this was complete we could then take down the existing partition wall that they had erected when they first moved in, all walls and timber work received a fresh coat of paint.

All the existing carpet was lifted and replace with new, we then performed a pedeoric survey off all electrics

For many people living in Derbyshire, public places and community facilities are not accessible because their personal care needs cannot be met in standard accessible toilets (disabled toilets).This affects all those people who require the support of one or two carers and /or a hoist and changing bed; adults, children and some older people.

“Changing Places” is a specification for fully accessible public toilets

Partnership working between Derbyshire County Council, Leonard Cheshire Disability and the Genesis Centre has resulted in the provision of a ‘changing places facility’ within the Genesis Family Entertainment Centre. Disabled people visiting Alfreton can access the facility by using a radar key between 8.30am and 10pm weekdays and 9.00am and 10pm at weekends.

Background

The works were required as part of the BBC TV series Garden Invaders. The project involved construction and landscaping works that included bricklaying, slabbing and trestle work.

This was a complete garden make over which was successfully completed within the day.

This Project was awarded to Apple Solutions Ltd.

The Project involved bringing the home up to date with current fire regulations, after a fire risk assessment was carried out by the local fire officer.

Our works was to replace all fire doors to the service user’s rooms on one particular wing, and to replace all fd30 intumescent fire strips to all new doors, and existing doors, we also had to ensure that all existing doors were working correctly.

Once all new doors were fitted they were painted to the client’s specification, and all associated ironmongery was fitted. Due to the satisfaction of the area projects manager we went on to completing two other sites, of similar nature.

This project was awarded to Apple Solutions Ltd.

The project involved forming a new canteen area and a self contained fire exit within the warehouse above the mezzanine floor area, this was constructed out of metal stud and plasterboard, with three windows, two in the canteen area and one at the top of the fire escape staircase looking down onto the warehouse floor.

A suspended ceiling was then fitted. A sink base unit was fitted with a over sink water heater. All air condition was completed and all associated electrical works. A poly safe vinyl floor was laid to the canteen floor and other areas within the warehouse. The canteen on the ground floor was then converted to female and male lockers rooms, the floors were painted with industrial paint, the windows were blanked out and the ceiling tiles were replaced.

Handsworth and Aston are part of a large regeneration project which has already seen improved safety, environmental and social activities.

As part of this regeneration Midland Heart has brought to life a range of traditional Victorian homes, many of which for the first time in 20 years are being brought back into use as family homes. Our involvement in the project was to complete all carpentry works, structural works, ceramic floor and wall tiling, underground drainage, boundary walls and all landscaping.

Background

This project comprised of a complete renovation.

The existing bathroom and toilet was stripped out along with all the existing pipe work, electrical wiring, doors, door frames, skirting boards and all wall paper.All ceilings were plaster boarded and the whole property was plastered throughout. A new bathroom and kitchen was fitted. The dividing wall between the kitchen and lounge was opened up to give a bigger kitchen and to achieve a kitchen stroke dining room area which was fitted with an oak laminate floor.A hardwood stable back door was fitted to alow a good air flow during them hot summer days, a full electrical rewire and central heating system was completed. New skirting boards, door frames and doors were also fitted.

The property was painted throughout with neutral colours to give the desired finish.
