After being asked to tender for the toilet refurbishment works at Delcam Internation we visited the site to meet the client and go through the work they needed completed. This project brief was to modernise the existing toilet to bring them up to date with the newly refurbished toilets in the rest of the building.
Following the initial meeting, we provided brochures of toilet cubicles, vanity units, different none slip vinyl floors and wall claddings which would be practical and low maintenance whilst still achieving the required high-end finish.
One we had agreed on the quotation and received the purchase order we produced a full programme of works and then booked the refurbishment project into the diary and began to produce the health and safety paperwork.
As soon as all the loose ends were tied up and we had confirmed with the client the specification on the toilet cubicles, shower rooms, vanity units, none slip vinyl flooring and the concealed free-standing toilets we ordered all the materials and started on site with 10 working days.
Our first job was to disconnect and make safe all water supplier and existing services whilst making sure the rest of the building still had their water supply.
We could then begin to start ripping out the existing toilets cubicles, vanity units, sinks toilets, and take up the existing vinyl flooring.
We had agreed to reduce the cost by leaving all wall tiles on and fitting the wall cladding over the top of them without any issues.
We then went onto completing all first fix plumbing works ready to take the new toilets showers and vanity unit sinks
Once all the first fix plumbing was completed we applied latex a self-levelling compound in the preparation of laying the new vinyl flooring. After the latex had had 24 hrs to go off all the vinyl floor was laid and protected with impact barrier matting to protect the floors while the rest of the work were completed.
The next job was to fit all the wall cladding, toilet cubicles, vanity units, sinks, showers, shower trays, toilets and mirrors.
Finally, we could paint all the doors and ceilings and then lift the floor protection so as to clean up.
All that was left then was to fit all the white silicone sealant and remove any surplus material and debris from site leaving the premises as if we hadn’t been there.
